Years ago a young owl took over an old nest in my barn. I thought it was pretty cool until Someone told me that an owl nesting on your house meant someone would die. A few days later my dog died in his sleep in my bed. 6 yrs old, no health problems. He just died. We went to sleep and he was fine, woke up the next morning and he was dead.
Damnit, I am thoroughly spooked.

If you eat food in your bed or sleep with one sock on the witch will ride you back. This is when you can't move, open your eyes, lift your head out of your pillow when you are face down. It is very uncomfortable.

I'm very observant of seeing an owl in the daytime. Also, I still turn left or right if I see a black cat about to cross my path. If it happens I spit in my hat to remove the bad mojo.
