They deserve what they work for. If "living wage" is more than they make at WM, why can't they work another job? Is someone stopping them?

Just as most of the wealthiest in the US see their incomes grow, but of course their average tax rate decline.

They are paid market rate for the value they bring to the company. I don't know what "living wage" means. They are all welcome to leave for something that pays better or get a second job.

So the people at walmart making minimum wage dont deserve to be able to make a living wage
WTF is this "living wage" you speak of? You want a real wage? Then get skills and make a difference at your place of employment. You want to scan price tags? Not my problem that it isn't skilled work.

Some companies actually pay more than minimum wage for the same job walmart pays less for. Because they actually care about their employees and families. Just not greedy profit
That's awesome. Pissed off Wal mArt employees should apply for those jobs. And if they qualify for them and are hired, THATS A BINGO!

If people working for hypothetical "wal marts" aren't making enough to survive, they need second jobs. Walmart isn't there to overpay people. If they were worth more than min wage, "Walmart" would be pAying them that.
I hope you enjoy making up their salary difference in the form of government assistance, I'm sure Wal-Mart issues you a quarterly dividend check.

They're paid more than that.

Every action you take, though it may be misguided, is in the pursuit of some kind of profit. It may be monetary profit, or some kind of mental/spiritual/social profit.
To make the next moment better than the previous is the driving force of human growth.

It sucks and I hate it. But how is it wal marts fault or responsibility? It falls on the employee.

Unfortunately dont you think those jobs would fill up and not have enough room for everyone.

So let me get this straight: those jobs are given to better qualified people? Hmmm, ain't that some shite.

I'd say Wal-Mart is as guilty as any of the parties involved. They distribute hours in such a way as to ensure their employees receive government assistance, with which they spend taxpayer money at Walmart.

Why is it the tax payers fricking problem to have to supplement their incomes since Walmart dont pay them enough? How about they get paid a wage not to qualify for govermental assistance

Before the "tax break" for the rich finally expired when Bush was on his way out, just got back to the percentage they were paying since 1997. Until then in declined. Makes sense right?

If someone's rate x hours worked is less than what it takes for them to live, it's their responsibility to make up the diff. Or, they can rely on Uncle Sam. Why aren't you folks arguing that they should work more?

Wal-Mart may have them work a different shift on different days every week. frick, I don't know how they allocate hours.
All I'm saying is that Wal-Mart benefits as much (if not more) by employees receiving assistance. The only person getting buttfricked is the taxpayer.

It's interesting that the people in this country that take responsibility for their actions tend to be successful and attain more while those that blame everything on everyone else don't achieve at a high level.
