I want one but they're too expensive to fix. To me the appeal of an EV is to have less moving parts.

Hardly,
Tesla's are ugly glorified Golf Carts with horrible fit & finish.
Goofy how so many conservatives hated Tesla's until Musk started supporting Trump, now they love Tesla's.
I'm happy Musk got Trump with the Winner's Circle, but that doesn't change the fact that Tesla's are trash

Tesla is the best electric vehicle in a market of all crappy electric vehicles.

If Tesla could somehow come out with an affordable entry-level vehicle right now, it would fill a need that none of the other automakers are seemingly capable of.

What are your concerns there? The operating and maintenance costs are much less. The only big one is if you’re going to keep it long enough to need a battery replacement.

Rivian and Lucid both make better vehicles, but they’re expensive. Tesla would be better off if Elon sat on the sidelines for a bit. The Cybertruck is a bad product.

Better build quality and nicer features but very much unproven batteries or battery management tech.

He has very little to do with Tesla anymore other than green lighting some pet projects. The days of him micromanaging the company are long gone.

It’s ugly AF but outside of the poor design choices its tech is pretty damn good.

Well not exactly true. The more electric cars, the bigger demand for energy/electricity. The more demand there, the more oil and gas.

We have an energy crises on this country more than anything. An nvidia chip takes the power of a homes energy for a day. Charging an ev takes the same. So your talking about 3 homes energy power in one day per house.
So we need energy!

I think Rivian is at least equal.

He’s needs to stop grifting. Consumers want a normal looking truck and an affordable electric car…instead he’s taking deposits for the roadster which has been promised for 5 or more years now, focused on full self driving which will take forever to ever be road legal, building a robot that doesn’t work, and offering a robotaxi which no one really asked for.

Yes, aesthetically and functionally it’s not good. There’s a reason the general shape of trucks has not changed in 50+ years. Also, stainless steel was not a good idea.

TBD. There’s just not enough data to see if they have degradation under control. It took Tesla a while to figure out and everyone else is playing catchup. I want them to be on par. I met RJ a few years ago and one of my buddies interned with him at Ford. So I’m pulling for them.

There’s a lot more to Tesla than just that though yeah those are stupid but they also have solar and home energy storage, utility storage, grid services, virtual power plants and a utility company.

So either Libs will stop buying Teslas, or Cons will start buying them.

Agreed. I’m pulling for them too. The R3x looks awesome. I’m also pretty excited for the Scout trucks and suvs coming, specifically the EREV as I think that would suit me better. That’s awesome that you’ve met RJ.

Oh yeah, totally aware of that. I just think the $300+ stock valuation could be legit or way higher if they’d stop the pet projects and really focus in on normal cars, making them more affordable, infrastructure, and consumer home products like the solar shingles and home energy storage. Elon is no doubt a genius, just needs to get out of his own way at times.
