Old job, once a month.
New job, twice a year.

Hope you're at a small company, as that would be a pain in the arse to do for a company of any size.

Also, that's far too excessive...no need for anything more than an annual, with the gaps filled in by 1:1 meetings and on the spot coaching.

I’m retired now but when I was working the only people that would get a performance review more than once a year were people that they would eventually fire.

There is.

This is what happened to me decades ago and I have replicated it as a manager.

Hire the right people, empower them, give them the tools they need and then get out of their way.

If I had to submit to a review, I'd hit the pavement.
