Care to talk about Gen X and Millenials are saving the country fr those awful Boomers?
Anyone care to admit you work for a CEO who is a Boomer?

Wages aren't $3.10 an hour either.

You're citing bad information.
This was from your link

Thirty percent of the respondents age 55 and over claimed to have no retirement savings. An additional 26% reported less than $50,000 saved for retirement
Are you trying to argue that having saved 50k (or even 100k) is even close to being adequate for someone in their 50s or 60s?

You do realize how disproportionate the current minimum wage is in relation to tuition nowadays vs when the boomers were in college, right?

Ohhh...now you're changing to "adequate" which is a subjective word.
Collectively Boomers own more wealth than anyone. Boomers haven't "destroyed the economy" as some drama inspired people believe. By 2030, as I said earlier, you might have an argument.
quote:
2. Boomers will continue to be the wealthiest generation in the United States until at least 2030 (figure 2). Their share of net household wealth will peak at 50.2 percent by 2020 and decline to 44.5 percent by 2030, quickly tapering off thereafter as mortality rates escalate.
quote:
3. Generation X will experience the highest increase in share of national wealth through the forecast period, growing from under 14 percent of total net wealth in 2015 to nearly 31 percent by 2030.
4. The Millennial generation will experience the fastest growth rate of net wealth. However, the generation’s share of national household wealth will remain below 20 percent.
5. Home values may appreciate at a slower pace than they did in the last two decades due to slowing population growth.6 Consequently, the share of nonfinancial assets in total household assets is projected to decrease from 60 percent to less than 55 percent (figure 3).
LINK
Boomers are a "problem" mainly based on the sheer numbers that were born and lived (infant mortality rate fell dramatically) in their day. They didn't "destroy the economy" however, not yet at least.

It doesn't look like anything to me. \W/

That's kind of the point isn't it? They have been the ones in charge, making the most significant decisions, and they still want to push the blame off onto the people who just started having a little bit of influence.

Neither was government assistance, which is why the tuition went haywire.

People aren't blaming millenials for the economy.

Whoa. People who have been alive and working for longer have been able to accumulate more wealth than others who have just entered the workforce!?!?! That's shocking and provocative stuff.

I'm not arguing that they have "destroyed" the economy. Read my posts again.
I'm only talking about their inadequate retirement preparedness, which is going to create a lot of problems over the next twenty or so years.
Over 50% have basically nothing saved. That's going to be a yuge problem.

You need to read the post someone is responding to before jumping in with guns blazing. The person I was responding to did say exactly that
It's the whole basis for my discussion

It's counter to the argument being made by some. Context is kind of important.
