Simple answer, "YES". Bought a very nice 8-ft unlit "full" (75" wide) artificial tree about 15 years ago. Purchased it online after Christmas at a discount. Was nice not having to shell out $100-$150+ each year on a new tree.

The artificial tree was really starting to show it's age, so I decided to get rid of it 2 year ago. I assumed that I would be able to find a comparable tree with no problem. Sadly, I can't find a comparable 8-ft full artificial tree even after conducting an extensive search on-line. We did bite the bullet last year and bought a nice real tree. I really don't want to do the real tree thing again this year, but most artificial trees today have a Slim profile (which we don't want). Oh well.

We had to go to artificial trees when I discovered that I'm allergic to the Louisiana pine trees that we used to get from local farms. I could probably handle a tree from up north, but my husband is used to the artificial one now and doesn't want to buy a real tree that has to be maintained. I do miss real trees.

I’ll never own one. We always make a day out of it at a local tree farm , cut one down then have lunch somewhere.
