I mean, every movie you see they have people plugged in with a cable through their skull or back or something. You telling me aliens or robots haven't mastered wireless?

This might not be the right way to think about it. Think about this.
If the universe is infinite, then the possibilities of the types of alien life are infinite.
If the possibilities of alien life forms are infinite, then, it is more likely than not that whatever life form you can imagine actually does exist, than does not exist.
