I posted this in a thread a few weeks ago but pops texted me one morning while I was getting dressed for work and told me that he just took a leak off of his back porch while drinking his morning coffee and it was 48 degrees. He knows I hate South Louisiana summers and was picking on me I guess
He hikes, fishes and just unplugs from the world when he's there.

Retired?
Yeah my dad is 68 but he retired at 58. He bought the house in Montana 3-4 years ago. He'd probably just live in Montana full time but he has 6 grandchildren here and loves to spoil them.

I'm not feeling the hosts.
Kindof an odd cheese factor.

I bow hunt bear in the Sawtooth mountains just West of Yellowstone.

My friend is visiting me in MT right now--took him on a warm-up packraft paddle today. Going to work up to bigger water this week (and teach him not to do that with the paddle in rapids).
But to be able to hike and paddle this in town without shuttling is pretty awesome.
And below is a trail run I did Sat 15-20 min drive up mtn from house (which is under a mile from campus). Going to take friend to either Glacier or Missions in a few days for backpacking. Best place in the summer. High today hit 79.
And I happen to love the winter too.

Yellowstone is one of my favorite places. I was supposed to be camping there right now but my buddy backed out. Next year.
Have never actually camped in the park. When we go we camp at Hidden Lake, Idaho, and drive into West Yellowstone,MT to get in the park.

Definitely want to go. Probably wait few years as my 5 year old may not appreciate it

Went to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks last summer, Everyone should go there at least once in their lifetime.
I did that too and completely agree. Glacier N.P. also.
