On the bright side, he was quoted today in the news as saying he wouldn't be satisfied until Jackson's statue is taken down. So he's going to die unsatisfied.

This picture proves the statue removal wasn't about racial healing or improving the city.. It was about winning something against whitey and sticking it to them.

I don't think there's any way a serious politician goes after Jackson (famous last words). I didn't think they would take Lee down either, but the justification for that was they were Confederate statues. No one wants to be responsible for opening the Pandora's box with Jackson, an actual President who literally saved New Orleans. It's an incredibly iconic image for the city, moreso than Lee- that statue posed in front of St. Louis Cathedral. The number of people who want Jackson down is a very small minority, they are just loud and vuglar about it. Most people in favor of taking down Lee would probably jump ship at that point. God I hope I'm right.
Also the next mayor could be Latoya Cantrell, and she was very relucantly for taking down the statues. I don't see her doing a 180 and giving in to the rabble rousers.
