Looks like the FBI site for internet fraud is just for victims.

Ive found a scammer on Let go and they have a website for a transport company that is used to validate the scam.

Yes, ive been messing with them trying to waste their time.

They are starting to doubt that Phil M Kracen is buying their truck.

Good luck. I had someone listing my Airbnb property on Craigslist out of south Florida and the two sheriff departments one local to me and one local to the ad said there was nothing they could do until a crime was committed.

Eta: I flagged it on Craigslist that’s about all I could do.

I agree, but if this is a scam site, it's very well done.

It's a scam.

Here's the text of the first email.

quote:

Attachments Tue, Oct 16, 9:15 PM (2 days ago) to me Hi, Thanks for your interest in my truck. It's a 2013 Toyota Tacoma SR5 and it's in great condition! Has 122,117 miles, automatic transmission, the body is rust free. The truck belonged to my father who recently passed away. Brings me memories and it’s been in the garage for the past month,so I only want $4000 for it. Right now I've return to my base in Springfield,MO, because in two weeks we leave for duty. Due to the training I can’t leave the base to meet you and close the deal so I’ve decided to use a local shipping company and left the truck in their possession. Best part about this is that you'll get 5 days for inspection for free with no further obligation or fees to decide. This is not a blind transaction, you can physically see it before I will receive any money. If you're interested in purchasing it, send me your full name, shipping address and phone # so I can have them to send you an invoice, meaning more details about how they work. Also you are not obligated to buy it, no pressure! Thank you!

Then they sent an "official" looking invoice save for the ridiculous wire transfer request crap.

This also huge with Zillow and Trulia. They allow anyone to post listing on their sites and is a big reason why MLS' aren't syndicating listing to them. 2 years ago about 1/3 of the listings were fake. They've been trying to hard to clean it up but it's still happening pretty regularly.

You're like an old man telling people to get off their lawn. The OT sure has emboldened you to save the world, huh?

you are the most beta for attempting to save others from a fate they will inevitably be exposed to anyway because they are dumb.

Your girl most have gotten ripped off by rodan or some other scam and now you're a crusader for good

Who are they?

The address from the "legit" website is for a company called Cullam and Brown.

www.cullamandbrown.com

You think Springfield Express Deliveries is legit?

Who has called them?

This is nothing like that, idiot.

What on earth gave you that idea? The world? You idiot.

More idiocy.

I'm not the one who is attacking a scammer for no reason. You are acting like the neighborhood police who writetickets that have no backing. You are worse than the worst HOA. O god this guy online is scamming people, I must save everyone. Get real. .

You mad, bro?

and seriously, you must be upset at someone to go after a person you have never met via email

I wish my life was so laid back that I could create issues. I salute you, bro. We could make a "Real man of Genius" commercial about your exploits.

I'm just fricking with you. I'm sure it's a scam, most of the cheesy customer testimonies mention how easy the wire transfer was which is a strange thing to say

All good.

A friend said he found a 2011 Tacoma for $4k and I immediately asked him if he was goofy.

Had another buddy almost lose $8k in a boat scam. It was a 26ft boat in NE with radar. I asked him why it had radar and he freaked out. He had initiated the transfer. His banker told him that 20 minutes later and he would have been too late to stop the transaction.

If it sounds too good to be true...
