I know this is a shot in the dark, but I just wanted some inside info about what it's like to work there. Culture, management style, advancement opportunities, stress level, is there pressure to constantly work overtime, what are the people like, etc.? Hopefully someone here can provide some inside info. Thanks in advance.

I read this as an angry Asian man
ETA: I've only done small service work for Rain. Seems like a decent enough place to work in my limited opinion

I've worked in the one at Lake Charles. Worked in several "Carbon" facilities last 23 years. They are all shite holes. Everywhere and everything is black.... the black dust gets in and on everything. I would NEVER work for one. I want to shower just remembering them!

Small company. Some are union. Family style atmosphere in most cases. Great starter facility to get experience on your resumé

I did some work there back in the day when I was still in school. Actually, worked there 2 different summers.
From all the time I spent there, it was pretty laid back and their people weren't working too much. I had a job offer to come back and work there, but I live in Baton Rouge and was traveling there, plus, I was going to school for something else and wanted to try to make a career out of my major first.
Had things been different, from everything I saw and experienced there, I would have accepted the job.

quote:Great way to describe it, imo.
These guys have little in the way of preventing them from carrying out such crimes

Haha, I had to go back and read what I wrote to make sure I didn't actually say that.

Would you say it's a good place to work for someone that's already experienced?

I guess it all depends on what you want out if it. For someone upwardly motivated it will probably be hard to find a foothold because of lack of opportunity.

Bump for more responses from the night crew.

I hear the boss like to send emails at 1230 Saturday nights and expects you to respond by Monday morning.

Nothing wrong to me with responding on Monday morning when you arrive to work. Seems like a statement like that is only saying he wants you to address his concerns first thing Monday morning.

My cousin works there and he told me one of his coworkers said that on his first day he should go over there to the lounge and announce to everyone his name, badge number, and a little about himself.
Its expected to fit in with the company culture.
