Make sure you stay out of the US long enough to get your tax break. (335 out of 365 days and the first 96k is exempt) Also, when you do get time off, Dubai is a short quick flight away. I've spent about 3 weeks in total in Kuwait. I assume you'll be living off base in an Apt. Its fairly westernized, shopping malls, movie theaters, but no legal alcohol. Its dirty, and Hot

My (ex-Navy) brother was a contractor in Kuwait for years. He would still be there if his (ex-Navy) wife didn't threaten to divorce him. The money is crazy. He mentioned using iTunes a lot to watch TV programs.

Not longer than some of these guys, but if you can get a gig in Qatar or UAE, do it.
