Anyone here have a Roomba?

I'm looking into getting one for the house as I have a dog that sheds heavily. Curious to hear any positive or negative experiences people here have had.
Mostly interested to see if you think it's worth the money as they are more expensive than I expected (they range from $300 - $800).

We have one but I know nothing about it. I've never seen my wife use the regular vacuum cleaner but our floors are always spotless, so I guess that means it works very well.

Got one from my parents as a Christmas gift a couple years ago. I run it about every other day. I use the real vacuum about once a month now. That's even with 2 pets that shed like crazy. Worth every penny imo.

We got one as a wedding gift in April. We run it every day and she mops the kitchen and bathrooms every other week. We also have a dog and it helps tremendously with the hair issue. You can get off brand replacement parts (brushes and filters) from Amazon for a great price. Absolutely love it.

Whatever you do...make absolutely certain it never runs over a dog turd. My buddy did this...it mopped that turd all over his living room floor. The Roomba was tossed out, but besides that it did a great job. I still laugh to this day when I remember him telling me the story.

The $250 model works great. IMO app controlled models aren't worth 3-4xs the cost.
Ours runs every day 1 hour before we get home. If 1 room needs extra attention, you can lock it in there and pick it up and hour or so later.
If you have a pet that sheds, don't think about it any longer. Trust me. Buy it.

Our model was about $300, also no Wi-Fi. I wouldn't spend extra on it or buy a model higher than ours. For $300 it's worth the time it saves us and does a great job.

We have an iLife. It's ok. The instruction manual came in Chinese only. My mom has a Roomba and it seems to do a better job.

I have two. They are amazing. You may have to adjust a couple of pieces of furniture to maximize the roomba's efficiency, but other than that, operation is seemless and extremely effective.

We got a refurbished Neato about a year ago. It's been great. We rarely use the real vacuum anymore and we have two corgis that shed a lot.
We did have to replace the batteries a month or so ago, but did that and it was good as new.
Way cheaper than a Roomba too.

I bought one just for pet hair on tile and it's great for that. Cleans up much better than just sweeping. It is a little clueless knocking around on walls trying to find its way. If you buy a regular one ($350 or less) it will just clean by random motion. It doesn't learn the room which is fine. Just turn it on before you leave the house and make sure the floor is relatively clear of bulky item.
It does not do a good job of going down hallways or into other sectioned off rooms. It will often get stuck if you have multiple rooms and end up cleaning one area for a long time while ignoring the rest.
If you have a fairly open area to clean it'll be great. As long as you understand it's limits and realize it won't replace your regular vacuuming of more remote areas of your house you'll be fine.

Two 980s, 1 for upstairs and 1 for down, the mop bot 380t, and the pool cleaner bot (fricking rules)
About to buy the gutter cleaning robot.
Big fan of robots in general, and Irobot makes a good product.
We have had absolutely ZERO issues with any of our 4 robots.
Best part IMO, the 980s are HEPA filters and are programed to run for about 1 hour a day.... that is 2 hours daily of HEPA air purification in addition to clean floors!
If you can afford them, I recommend them.

I bought the new Eufy model as opposed to going with a Roomba. Only thing it's missing is wifi connectivity, but it has a remote. Performed as good or better than many of the Roomba models, for a fraction of the cost. Worth every dime spent. Doubt I'll ever buy another full sized upright vacuum again.

They work ok. They can be rough on furniture and base boards or get stuck under cabinet toe kicks. Don’t leave wires or anything on the ground that can get sucked up. Mine completely fricked up my MacBook Pro charging cable
