Anyone here ever lived in New Jersey?

I've never lived in Jersey, I've been there once and thought it was a decent place. I've always heard wisecracks about Jersey and how people from New York look down on New Jersey. Have any of y'all ever lived there, and if so, what is it like living up in Jersey? The Sopranos is my favorite television show of all-time, so from watching that show, I've seen a lot of Jersey for sure!

What a strange post.

You wouldn't make it out alive.

I think more people have died in New Jersey than lived there.

Briefly in Paulsboro. It's about 20 mins from Philly and nothing like what jersey shore suggests.

I've done a lot of work in New Jersey and spent a decent amount of time there. Outside of the richer communities, Hoboken for example, it's pretty dumpy. New Jersey reminds me a lot of North Baton Rouge. Industrial, bland, and nothing to write home about.
The closer you are to NYC...the better.

Just in case Urinal Mint doesn't respond, why do you think he's lying MoJeaux?

My sister and her husband just moved from there. Where they lived it was beautiful. They were in Bridgewater Township, a little more than half-way between Allentown, PA, and NYC.

So a state with the motto of "Garden State" is "industrial and bland?" Like North Baton Rouge?
New Jersey is a pretty big state. One hour west from NYC, you get into a segment of the Appalachian mountain chain, and it's decently wooded. Even the Jersey Shore has some nice quiet seaside communities, which are not overrun by your stereotypical guido.
Perhaps he has spent quite a bit of time in NJ, but I certainly don't think he's traveled it widely.

Camden seemed nice enough, I would consider raising a family there.

Outside of the pretty little townships and hamlets where the very well to do live, you find:
Heavy Industry
Dingy
Corruption
Not too far off.

Scotlandville, LA is much more suburban and quaint though.

Jersey has its sections that can be a loss for words. However, there are some great parts as well

Wow. You've just described probably a majority of the 50 states. Congrats.
