anyone here ever have to remove a bot fly larvae

I actually did this a couple of weeks ago on someone else. They hadn't grown very big yet tho. It was still pretty wild. Put some vasoline on the bumps and they popped out after about 15 minutes. Pulled them with tweezers.

Not necessarily. They can enter from furniture, clothes, etc. Once they enter you can't scrub them out.

No. These come from mosquitos that have the eggs on them. The bite happens and then the egg is deposited. Couple of weeks later you are giving birth to your very own bot fly larvae

Not necessarily. Mosquitoes often drop them off. Female botflies will capture a mosquito, "donate" some eggs, and then release it to go infect someone.
