What do you gain from heart rate and sleep? I use my heart rate for working out for sure, but I only use that watch while working out. I don't need to know what my heart rate is all day.

I have one. I really like it. If you are worried about the wife's wrist size, check out the alta. It's slimmer on the wrist but still has most of the same functions. She will like the pink leather band for it as well.

The promise is when you start pairing multiple data sources together and getting insights that way.
Take the under armor record app and myfitness pal.... You can tie a wifi scale, a wrist band that monitors sleep, HR, steps, UV exposure, etc, and a torso HR monitor during actual workouts (wrist HR monitors are not good for intra workout HR) together.
With myfitnesspal you are logging everything you eat.
The underarmour record app acts like a hub for:
Resting HR
Weight
Active HR
UV exposure
Sleep quality
Steps/distance run or walked
All food intake
And your subject feeling for the day
When you have all of those data points in one place you can start extracting trends and take corrective action.
