I raced sailboats one summer. Fun as hell. If your kids get into it, you should too

I had a sunfish at that age and it was a blast. You just have to be ready to travel if he gets into it, that said if he wants to sail in HS or college he will be on 420s and FJs if things haven't changed by then. Again, with the price of the junior membership I'd suggest not buying a boat just yet because the clubs usually have plenty of boats. Also it's almost time for the Wednesday night race to start, tell junior to start rigging the boat and not worry about when the series starts or finishes, just to get on the water and learn.
