pretty much i guess

i just fixed a few of them, i never replaced one or gave a quote but i mainly did a/c & htg work

im going to guess if you have nothing for heat now, between $6000-$8000 to go from nothing to heated pool, its been a while so if im off, the total should still stay below $10k.

the boiler alone will most likely be $5000

but then there is always the bucket full of hot charcoals idea

Our heated pool allows our kids to swim 10 months out of the year. We love it. Have to turn it on about 12-25 hours before swim time

I had a heated pool as a kid that ran on solar. It worked pretty damn good, and solar technology wasn't very good back then. It was in Florida, so I don't know how well it would work where you live, and how cold it gets.

Just make sure you're not a dumbass like my sister. She hit the wrong buttons, and heated the pool using The natural gas from the hot tub. My dad jumped on the pool later work during the summer, and damn near had a heart attack.

just look at the amp draw on the serial number information label and do the math

they are so different in efficiency and power draw depending on what you buy so no one can accurately just say off hand like that but its a water pump motor so assume its like running your houses central heater for the same amount of time and that would be close.

Heat pump for sure. Gas heaters are costly to operate and as mentioned above are problematic.

Aquacal is the best on the market.

I know someone who has one of these:
Hayward 400k BTU natural gas/propane heater

Told it heats 2-3 degrees/hour for about a 15,000 gal. pool. Also heard that if left on for a month, about $900-$1000 gas bill; and a visit from the gas company thinking there is a leak because "no one ever uses that much."
