Anyone have an idea as to why Twitter is so sluggish after reinstalling Windows?

My laptop is about 1 year old and came with Windows 10. It worked great. Twitter worked great on Google Chrome.

About a month ago I got a whole bunch of malware. There were programs installing themselves, pop-ups, etc. I ended up running anti-malware programs and eventually "reset" my computer back to the factory condition. It basically uninstalls windows, deletes everything, and then reinstalls it.

But ever since then, certain websites, like Twitter, are extremely sluggish in Chrome. I notice that it's websites where there is the never-ending scroll like ESPN.

But it's not my computer itself, because like I said Twitter worked perfectly fine with Chrome before I reinstalled Windows, and Twitter works fine now with Microsoft Edge.

So does anyone have any idea why sites like Twitter would be so sluggish now with Chrome when they weren't previously and why Twitter works fine with Microsoft Edge but not Chrome?
