Just got one and answered and it was a girl saying hey baby. I say you have the wrong number. She says this is ****** right? I say yeah, who's this? She says c'mon baby don't be stupid, it's me.

So I start googling and apparently it's some scam and they use your "yeah" as an authorization for shite. Anyone else get this? It's kinda odd to me because the she called me by my middle name which only people who know me call me by.

A taped message, (very slick, perfectly timed) got me to say yes about a month ago, then I remembered reading about the scam. Called BBB, she recommended calling, bank, credit card company, telephone company and to diligently watch the next few statements of each.
Glad you reminded me, I forgot..

Why the telephone company? I'm calling my bank in the morning but haven't called my credit card companies. Checked my accounts and all seems fine as of now.

I didn't understand that part either, maybe because it's basically fraud on the landline? Lady said that telephone company wouldn't put any thought into it, but, just to do it to cover all the bases.
What's funny is, AS SOON as I said yes, I remembered the scam warning. The tape was perfectly set up due to where and what I had done the day prior, (truck maintenance).. I think it was actually re: a time share deal that I heard while pushing the off button.

I do not answer any number I do not recognize, even if it is local. If it is that important, they can leave a message and I'll call them back.

fricking with spam callers and telemarketers is fun. They're so used to reeling in suckers or getting hung up on that they don't know how to handle it when someone strings them a long and takes them for a ride.

There's an awesome video out there of a guy convincing a telemarketer he's a cop at the scene of a murder, the telemarketer called the dead guy's phone so they have to question him. Guy is FREAKING OUT the whole time
