A friend in 10th grade had it during the summer and missed the first three weeks of school.
ETA the tonsillectomy part.

Your voice will prob change if you get your tonsils out as an adult...my friends' sister had it done as an adult and that happened to her.

I had it done in my 30's. Worst procedure I've ever had done and I've had a few. I wanted to not use my CPAP machine anymore. My Dr. didn't recommend it but I was stubborn. My sleep apnea came back after about 10 years. I came out of surgery pissed off because I was in so much pain. It was horrible!
