Wife’s in MT as we speak. Said it was warmer than she thought it’d be.

It gets hot there but not like here. Obviously depends on the location. My dad spends his springs and summers in Montana. He said it will get mid to upper 80s occasionally but it doesn't last long. And it's 50-55 at night and early in the morning. He's near Bozeman.

So is she. She’s fly fishing the Galatin ((sp) River. Flew to Bozeman from BR. Doesn’t fish, let alone fly fish, but it was a free trip from her pharma rep. Pics she sent looked awesome, but I’m told the Western side of MT is much better.

My dad told me about a decade ago that he'd never spend another summer in the South. He leaves Louisiana around May and comes back in early October.

He wouldn't ever come back if he didn't have 7 grandkids here.

Can’t say as I blame him. I flew to Fort Collins CO a few years ago to look at a horse I wanted to buy. It was July. I never knew how awesome July could feel till that trip.

Which was convenient because that's on the table in New Orleans.

I know exactly what you mean, though. My best friend moved to Southern California, met a woman, and decided that marrying her and putting his demon spawn into her was a good plan. The wedding was in San Diego in September. My buddy's brother and I flew out there two weeks before the wedding to hang out with them and help them get ready. It was 75-80 degrees every day, the humidity wasn't oppressive, and it got down to the lower to mid 60's every night. I think I saw a single cloud the entire two weeks.

When that door opens up to 95 degrees and 85 percent humidity after two weeks of a perfect climate, how shitty our climate is (on top of all the other reasons this state's near the bottom of any metric) comes instantly flooding back.

I was there for work in August. It was hot, but when the sun went down, it was great. Catching a baseball game on an August night with shorts and a light jacket is a beautiful thing.
