What did you have to do besides submit the forms? Did you send a copy of your tax return? Did they inspect the premises?

You fill out the survey on their website (you'll need your FEMA information). They'll place you in a phase depending on your answers.

From there someone will eventually contact you to fill out even more paperwork and submit some information (copy of ID, etc). After that someone will come out and inspect your property. They'll make note of what's been done and any work left to be done.

After that you may have another call. If not then they pass your case up and you are contacted with your reward amount. You can either accept it, appeal it (for example, if you disagree with the amount they have stated for your walls to be replace... they had ours at 3k when it actually cost us around 13k) or request a consultation to go over everything (we've decided to opt for this last one).

RestoreLA gave us $0. Because we were approved for the loan, it got counted toward our total. Didn’t matter that we didn’t take any of it. That has to be the biggest crock of shite in all of this. In what reality does that even make sense? How can you hold something that someone didn't even do against them?

That is total bull shite and only something government can think of.
The new bill does away with counting the duplication when you turn it down.
But, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

All you folks deserve better than what our government is giving. Most of you are hard-working taxpayers that probably never got anything from our government before this tragedy. Some folks get government housing, food stamps, welfare, etc. for generation after generation..and I'm not being racist here, there are whites and blacks that are in this category. And the flood victims are scrutinized for every cent given to them. It's a joke! And don't even get me started on how much money our government spent on Katrina and now, the Puerto Rico crap.
God bless you all!

We tried to use it for our business but they don’t provide money for construction costs.
