Can you give any details,,, pictures or descriptions of account ,,,
Old guy ,,, young guy? I am interested but I don't have hbo and saw OF86 and that it was already a shite show.
Hope it's not about me. Feel like I would have remembered making a documentary

Dr. Wilkens, who is one of the experts featured in Risky Drinking, a new HBO documentary premiering tonight at 8 p.m. EST, says that contrary to popular belief, it's not super clear-cut what constitutes an issue with alcohol. Instead, the symptoms of alcohol use disorder (which is the term used for a medical diagnosis) exist on a spectrum, from mild to severe. We talked to Dr. Wilkens about our changing understanding of alcoholism, how to spot a problem, and why AA or even total abstinence isn't the only treatment option out there.
quote:
"If you have two or three of these symptoms, you’re considered to have a mild problem; if you have four or five, that's a moderate problem, and if you have more than six, you have a severe disorder.
"Binge drinkers tend to write stuff off as 'Oh, that was just one bad night.' [So it's important to] really be honest with yourself about how many hours did you lose the next day to hangover? What things did you do and say to people that you actually really feel bad about? How is it affecting your productivity? How is it affecting your self-care?
"Heavy drinkers can get really used to feeling bad. They're used to feeling hungover, always having a headache or stomach problems. They've just gotten used to it. They literally don't remember what it feels like to feel healthy. That’s something to be attuned to — are you always waking up with a headache? Are you finding that you can’t really eat stuff in the morning because you feel queasy?"

I don't want to be insensitive but my god those ppl disgusted me, not so much Neal and the guy in the Virgin Islands but the single mom and Kenzie. Just so much selfishness and and self pity, a great example of many of the issues people in our country have
Just wallowing in the bad things that have happened in their lives instead of facing them head first and going out everyday to make a better life for themselves and those who depend on them.
This is reality, it's isn't always fun. It isn't always kind or polite. It is what we are forced to live in. Quit whining about what it isn't and recognize what it is and go to work for you and your future. Be a damn adult and take care of yourself, bc no one else is gonna
ETA: interestingly the other two (Neal and Island guy) appeared to have much worse drinking issues but took more responsibility for their actions and whined less about all the bad things that had happened to them. Trying not to sound sexist but maybe it's a male vs female thing, Idk

The single mom pissed me off when she said she skipped her daughter's graduation because her ex was going to be there with his younger girlfriend. So she just stayed home and drank. What a shitty parent. Her kids are going to want nothing to do with her when they're adults.

She literally said "I couldn't see him with her" regarding her ex and his 25 year old (always is that age isn't it?) gf. NEWSFLASH: This isn't about you and your bullshite. This is about your daughter
Dammit, makes me want a drink

wasn't that some shite ?
Yes. All three of them make me sick. Nothing more selfish than how those 3 people are living their lives.

I try not to be too judgmental because these people have a disease and if your brain isn't wired the way theirs is it is hard to totally understand. But if you are disgusted by it, I don't see how it can only be by the women. That one guy is possibly abusing his wife and making his son spend his vacation at bars and making rum runs. The other guy is drinking himself to death, while constantly running a .30+ ABV and making his poor wife clean up his shite and piss and vomit. Maybe the women didn't own up to their drinking as much as the men, but their drinking wasn't quite to the degree of the other two. And in the end, it sounded like they had taken more steps to curb it.
Anyway, I thought it was interesting and totally depressing, especially Neal. Holy hell, that is rock bottom. "Neal Struggles".....damn. I don't know how they got any of these people to agree to appear in this.
