he tried repairing buildings, but our historical district shut him down, so i think he figures if he cant fix em the way he wants then why try. he had started on 2 or 3 but they said the bricks he used were not historical looking! he has a few rented out, but they are in bad shape too!

Kelly's and Rays both have great food, but the original plate lunch destination was Benny's

What ?
You mean Abdalla's isn't there anymore ?
That should give away my age.

i still remember my aunt picking up burgers from joe's sandwich shop in those white bags

Joes Sandwich Shop still has the best burger. I lived there for about 20 years. I know a bunch of Lafleur from Prarie Rhonde. That city has gone to crap. I was driving on Railroad Avenue the other day. I had no idea why. Policeman said I didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign. He was full of bs. I didn't get a ticket if that says anything.

So I think we've come to the conclusion that Opelousas has good food and thats it.
I was upset that Cafe Acadiana closed. I loved their crab platter, it was crab augratin, Stuffed crab, and a whole bunch of other stuff for maybe 13-15 bucks. It would be 30 here in houston.
I know project will appreciate this but its sad that Credeur's had to close(at least as a sports store), I know its been closed a while but I had a bunch of great memories as a kid and looking at all the sports gear. Everything was always marked super high and then discounted to normal prices

Loved going to Credeur's to get my name printed on the back of my baseball jersey for summer ball.
It really is depressing to see what has become of that town. I only go back once or twice a year to see my parents.

I didn't even know this happened. I liked the Nike wallpaper they had throughout the store with the pictures of Bo Jackson in various sports gear from the "Bo Knows" campaign. It was up way longer than either of Bo Jacksons professional careers.

I spent all of my summers playing ball at South City Park. Those were the days!

I did too. Some summers I was one of the only white kids on the team.

I had a coach who picked me for like 5 years in a row. I wonder if they still have those leagues anymore? I know Dupre Park has a good program.
Posted on 5/15/14 at 12:43 pm to snags
Dupre Park is well past my time.
I wonder if Poochie's is still open. Went to school a few years with one of the sons of the owner.

All they do know is screen printing and promotional giveaway stuff. Mr. Freddie said thats all they were making money on anyway once academy's and the like started popping up.

Same. Loved being sponsored by the local business. Got to be Tony Chacheres one year.

I played for Hoyts Washateria one year lol.

I played for Carmen's Beauty Supply one year. It was a hair salon for black women.
Hell, Hoyt's always had a good team. I was on the Dolphins for Sertoma football. I can't remember how many years we went undefeated.

Probably until Devery Henderson started playing for the Raiders.

Probably a few years before. Most of the guys I played with ended up playing at Southern and Grambling.
