I almost started this same exact thread the other day. I have chewed my fingers and hands for my entire life and I have no clue how to quit, no matter how much I want to. It's so depressing.

Paint them with clear polish. Tastes like dookie.
I found this trick in college when I actually let my gf paint my nails green during spring break at the beach. I didn't bite nails for 2 weeks.

Another trick is to rub some scenty lotion on your fingertips and under nails real good a few times a day or before an activity like driving or sitting at desk(likely to bite). Also tastes like shite and will discourage biting.

I still technically bite them, but only when they get too long. Really just started after moving back from China and it just stuck. Don't quite remember my thought process.

Same here. My parents offered me $1,000 to stop in high school and I still couldn't do it. Its a subconscious habit at this point that I do when I am bored.
