Looking for something different to do this year, without having to leave town. A guy at work told me about the Baton Rouge Crowne Plaza's New Year's Eve Party, with food, open bar, live music.

I like food, booze, and music, but just not sure how lively (or trashy) any public NYE party in BR would be.

On a scale of Taylor Swift to Wilford Brimely, what is the average age of the people who attend this event?

Alternatively, any other NYE suggestions?

I went 3 years ago. It was ok, kind of reminded me of a sophisticated wedding reception. Wedding band, buffet style food and 3 mini bars. Most of the crowd was 40-70. My group was definitely the youngest there.

The price is better, and the average age will probably trend a little lower as well. Still have to find a place to stay downtown, or get an expensive-arse NYE uber.
