Your iPhone probably had some lint in the charging port. Toothpick will fix that. Another option would have been wireless charging.

Good on you for trying. Had you not, someone would have made a comment on it, too. Yes. Always something and happens one right after the other. I tell myself it’s life and home and car ownership will always be expensive. Then I thank God for my job and health and move on bc after seeing some people with losses of loved ones recently, or struggling caring for aging parents, I know it can be worse and it puts me in my place.

Had to buy new AC unit for the house this summer. I had a guy Ibknow that does commercial HVAC work at Exxon do it on the side. 5 Ton 14 SER Goodman cost me $6600. That’s inside and out. We are only going to be in this house another 4-5 years so I didn’t want to break the bank.
Local People wanted anywhere from 10-12K. My buddy said if they buy the unit for 4K they are doubling the price in most cases and putting 3K in labor on it.
Trying to talk my 17 yr old son into becoming an AC guy.

I learned very quickly when I bought my first house a few years ago that $1,000 is not a lot of money at all.

Talk about adulting, do you remember being younger and not even noticing the AC during the dog days of summer because it was just a given? Now it’s, is it kicking on properly, cooling enough, etc.? Or maybe I just need to relax a bit.

seriously, ours at work is set to 73 and I can't get work done for being so cold. I can't imagine 70 in a house. How bout more/better insulation? we sleep at 77 right now and that's about right.
Similar here. 75-76 at night is usually fine. 75 actually a little chilly.

How? The tires on my vehicle are $1,400 for 4. Brakes could be $600 for both axles. No surprising.

We just had window units - buy a new one for $200 back then and cool almost the whole house. I miss those days. Noise made you sleep like a baby. Wife would kill me if we had one now.
