Anybody cook a goose for Christmas

THis is a traditional Christmas meal that i want to introduce to my family. Where do you buy a whole goose and how do you cook it?
I have found several online options that sell smoked geese or frozen raw geese but I'm not sure which option to pursue.

My mom tried it one year, it didn't turn out too well. IIRC it was kind of greasy.

Maybe in 1700/1800s England.
Baked or roasted goose is a fatty mess and tastes only slightly better than turkey. My advice is to feed your family something they actually want to eat.
