they don't want any outside information influencing jury deliberations. You are supposed to decide cases based on the evidence admitted into evidence in trial, not based on what Google tells you.

Dude, they provided Wifi in the form of a home router 100 feet away to service 300 people. They allowed cell phones so you can access the net using data. We were allowed to leave the building at any time and had 1 hour lunch breaks. The big jury pool room was not sequestered in any way. They instructed the pool not to try to look up pending cases. They could have provided Wifi instead of subjecting us to Brandon Fraser films, Ludovico-style WRT alternative entertainment.

I spent a day and a half playing Skyrim on my laptop in that side room while most people watched whatever movies the jury coordinator brought from home.
