Took it up at age 40.I'm 58 now.

Best decision I've ever made.

I bought a $150 Pawn Shop guitar and some basic Songbooks and Chord Charts.

You actually have 1 advantage starting at an advanced age.You know the rhythm of a bunch of Songs.

I can't play a Song if I don't know how it goes.

It's worth the time.

I'm 48 and I started taking online lessons from Justinguitar 3 years ago. I don't practice nearly as much as I should but I try to.
I get sidetracked by youtube videos of songs that id like to be able to play. Ill practice one for a few days and move on to something else without having learned the entire song.

chord progression is still a challenge and I'm not very good at playing by ear since I'm partially deaf so progress is really slow for me.
