Really. Then why did the Texas governor have such a concern with it?
If it's just a routine exercise done since "like, the 60's".
You do realize its called "Jade Helm '15"
They had to tack on the the '15 to differentiate it from other years when they held the EXACT SAME EXERCISE

Are we seriously still talking about this.
My favorite quote from the Jade Helm thing:

My favorite quote from the Jade Helm thing:
quote:
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Thursday slammed “foolishness” surrounding the upcoming Operation Jade Helm 15, calling the mobilization of the Texas State Guard in response to the military exercise “one of the dumbest things I have ever heard” in an interview with Washington D.C.’s NewsChannel 8.

Marine special forces routinely run operation Derna Bridge in South Carolina.
Operation Robin Sage has happened in a fictional country called "Pineland," located in North Carolina, for over 40 years.

Bold Alligator takes place in Georgia and Florida and is also centered on another fictional country called "Garnet," training amphibious landings, with 14,000 troops.

Right... however none of them were about martial law. That's the issue people have with it.

This one isn't about martial law either. The only ones who have said that are conspiracy theorists.

It's about quelling and controlling civilian unrest within our borders. That's the definition of martial law whether anyone likes it or not.

gun control may not be a bad thing. but it would take a long time to achieve it without actually going into peoples homes and taking them.

No it isn't, not any more so than the previously referenced operations, all of which had military dressed like and acting like civilians, driving around in civilian vehicles, part of the territory declared hostile, etc. Some of those actually used civilian volunteers.
The operation is to train for unconventional warfare, which is the same exact thing those other operations were used for. No one but Alex Jones and his followers are attributing this to "martial law."

Lets allow the government to legislate more gun control. I'm sure that won't turn into anything else. Like full control. Your comment implies gradual acceptance which is just as bad as rapid disarmament.
Which goes against that whole ability to defend ourselves from tyranny thing... You know.. that our forefathers specifically added the 2nd amendment for.
Because they didn't live in this catered existence that you enjoy. They knew it was a possibility that the citizens of the future might have to deal with a rogue government. That's why it was #2 on the list.
They had the ability to recognize a problem before hand. Unlike most of us. We would rather doubt and ridicule it. Even when signs are staring us in the face.
