My mom fainted Friday and has a pretty bad gash by her eye that required stitches. Since then she has been suffering from severe dizziness and nausea. Hospital thinks it's an inner ear problem and she saw a ENT Monday. They told her to sleep at a 45' angle and gave her some exercises to do. Nothing is helping. Is this normal, will it just take time to get better? Thanks

I am not a doctor, but I would get a second opinion. Quick.

All the test they did at the hospital came back negative for concussion, heart attack, etc

People are mentioning crystals in her ears and vertigo?

Find someone in her area who can check her for BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo).
It happens often after head trauma...and it's really easy to fix. Some ENTs will do the treatments...so will most Audiologists

Look up how to do the epley maneuver on YouTube, and have her do it multiple times a day.

I had the same problem for months after a blow to the head, and this fixed it. This was after spending over $1,000 on doctors who were clueless.

The Epley can fix it if you know what ear was affected. The better home fix is the Brandt-Daroff. It treats both ears. Google that.

Alot of doctors are clueless about it. Audiologists are her best bet if she wants someone to do the treatment for her.

Damn it, I went to edit and cut my reply. Just get her to a specialist. Don't put her situation in the hands of YouTube and google.
