I Could sure use the diesel to pull my camper and heavy equipment but I’ve been seeing some things
On the web regarding the problems with DEF systems, sensors and emissions controls. Anyone have any personal experience they can pass on before I pull the trigger?

I had one burn up. Local shop couldn't figure it out and I had to bring it to the dealer. They said it was from pulling too much pussy.

It’s illegal to delete but I would do it if I’m having lots of sensor failures. Any way big brother can catch me other than a roadside inspection?

What percentage or how many miles are you pulling a year?. What are your weights?

Don’t be an arse and run a good tune to limit smoke and you should be fine.

Also depends on where you live and the diesel inspection.

Dude you live in Mississippi...no one give a shite if it's illegal.

Most people here don't have an up to date tag and inspection stickers aren't required anymore. Every person I know with a diesel in Mississippi has DEF deleted.

Pulling a 9,500 lbs camper, (dry wt), through Smokies about 4- 5 times per year and other trips 6 times per year at 1000 miles round trip. Also pull a 15,000 lbs tractor once per month.

It’s a great engine if you need to tow a lot.

Bribe someone who works at at inspection station. Cops have a 0% chance of checking your truck to see if the emissions have been modified.

I agree, everyone I know in the Delta has them deleted. I’m concerned about getting pulled over out West where I would be considered an eco-terrorist.

Shouldn’t the 2500HD be able to handle the camper with no problem? I think it’s rated to 15,000 with a bumper pull. The tractor is short distance but still a valid point.

If you aren’t towing highway speeds. And very short distance. Hope you don’t get in an accident if the total weight is even slightly above 15k. My f150 is rated at 12k I believe. I wouldn’t tow above 9k. Wheelbase and two wheels in the back really make a difference in stability.

But with what you are claiming on weight for the 15k the diesel and dually are recommended. Otherwise I’d do a 250 long bed and gasser IMO unless you plan to trade it in every few years.

Nope. It's a very good engine.

But it's probably overkill for most people who buy 3/4 ton trucks.
