It's not so much them as it is the local/city governments who give them cover and allow them to continue to physically assault people, block traffic, destroy businesses, etc.

And it's becoming a trend in bigger cities to allow this type of behavior. It needs to be squashed before it grows to something bigger.

Not surprising. It's the new progressive way of reducing crime rates by simply not prosecuting crimes.
Can't have high crime rates if there's no crimes committed on the books.
