He suffered from the same thing Michael Hutchence and David Caradine did.

He was horny.

I’n going to The Publican next week in Chicago because of him.

Sad to hear. He had an irrational hatred of POTUS, but I really enjoyed and valued his perspective on food and culture.

Any reasonable person can watch a single episode of a Bourdain show and make an educated guess that the guy was carrying a significant burden.

That's not the evidence of depression, I'm pretty sure he's acknowledged it, but it's pretty apparent nonetheless.

Exactly what I was thinking and no one is mentioning this.

Picked up on some of that. But I also gathered that he loved what he did and knew and appreciated the fact that he had a job that millions would kill for.

It doesn’t take a degree in rocket appliances to see he was a depressed man struggling with addictions. He talked openly about it.

I’m sorry this happened to your dad. But that doesnt make it right or even defensible for a parent to try and kill them self.

No offense. But you don’t know shite about me. And yes, I have seen it happen. I’ve seen the aftermath of what it does to the child of a parent who kills them self. It fricks them up royally. Turns their whole world upside down. I can take you to the grave of a girl buried when she was only 22 if a drug overdose who was a happy, healthy kid until the morning her mom decided to blow her brains out. I watched this girl go from a normal kid with a bright future to a withdrawn drug addict living in hell blaming herself for her own mother’s death. Her mother’s decision to end her own life also ended any hope this girl had of a normal life. It’s because I have seen it first hand that I say it’s fricked up and extremely selfish that a parent would do that to their child.

Don’t remember if it was “parts unknown” or “no reservations”, but he did a program on the Mississippi Delta near Memphis that was flat out great television.

I believe it was on the Travel Channel.

I'd concede it's a selfish thing to do (in a vacuum) if you'd acknowledge that most people who commit suicide are not thinking rationally and the "selfishness" isn't coming from the same place as someone who does something destructive while thinking rationally.

We can all use anecdotal evidence. I had a buddy in high school watch his dad kill himself. He didn’t fall into a downward spiral of drugs and die.

Most of them think they are being unselfish and doing their family and friends a favor.
