interesting man, served with the Irish Guards in Europe and when Patton and the 3d Army liberated his country, Patton found out he was nearby and arranged for him to be present for the liberation...they later rode together into Luxembourg City when it was liberated...
As I did a bit more research, he was awarded the Silver Star...that's something that not just given at any time...he served for a few days in 1944 with the 5th Armored Division along with his father during the liberation of his country...

It’s weird but he at one time...like myself...probably thought he would never die. I always think about that when I hear or read about someone old passing away
