They don’t have more people than the rest of the country combined, but they win most of if not all of the biggest jackpots on record.

Stupidity tax is real.
Oh, the stupidity goes far beyond that. Lotto ticket prices went from $1 to $2 a couple years ago, I believe, then the seed money dropped from $40MM to $20MM. I believe it's slated to raise again from $2 to $5 per Powerball or Mega Millions ticket. Talk about inflation!
I see too many of the guys that work for us waste thirty or fifty bucks on scratch offs and draw tickets every week to doubt that at least $17B was spent on lotto tickets last year. I reckon the government has figured out that if they can't get a high income tax rate passed on lower wage earners, they can get just as much and more by selling them false hope.

I agree, just a bunch of pompous self-righteous Assholes. HEY LOOK AT ME !
I mean yeah, it’s a poor man’s tax but I could spare eight dollars a year for a Microscopic chance to win $500 million

I've actually stuck with my new years resolution to not spend a dime on lottery tickets. Proud of myself for that.
