50k? maybe after 20 years.
Median income nationwide is 52k. That includes areas like New York and San Fran which obviously skew the numbers to the high end, but even if it were 52k in Louisiana it would still be an insulting wage, JMHO.

He was turning his life around.

Baton Rouge cops are very much underpaid in terms of national average. And they only just "caught up" 5 years ago. Before that, lieutenants with 20 years were making 38k or so. Everyone had to have extra duty. Walmart. Exxon. Extra shifts.

Then he shouldn't have fought the police or pointed his gun at people to get them called there in the first place.

Meanwhile Girod Jackson III was bringing home 600k by some estimates before his time came. Man, sometimes the system just depresses me.

Seems like you have the same mindset as the cops in that video.
You know their mindset, how?

Store owner had been letting him sell CDs and bootleg movies there for a while. He was likely getting a cut.
He has been selling cd's in fromt of that store for years. He was a convicted felon and sold cd's for a living and carried a gun so ge wouldn't get robbed because he always had cash on him. I've passed by there plenty of times and saw him out there.

i wonder what type of cd's Alton was selling?
Posted on 7/5/16 at 9:21 pm to DBeaux225
Yep. Family member said the gun was a recent purchase because another friend of his had gotten mugged recently.

I don't know what people try to insinuate in these type shootings. Do they think there was some big conspiracy to set this guy up so the cops could have the thrill of killing a random guy selling CDs? It's not like this guy was number 1 on the fbi's most wanted and the cops were out for revenge.
I HIGHLY doubt the cops want national media and a dead body on their hands just so they could have the pleasure of killing a random guy.
I absolutely believe there are a lot of dirty cops and don't particularly trust them, but it's not out of fear that they enjoy randomly killing people. Nothing good comes out of it for them.

Point blank don't be a cop of your gonna be a scary arse bitch. If me and a friend could frick this dude up with no gun how can't an officer beat them up. It's like they get lazy and are just like I don't feel like fighting I'll just shoot him. It's 1 on 2 put his arse to sleep like youre supposed to. If you can't fight don't be a police.

Because then he would sue for police brutality and settle for millions

I guess they were supposed to wait on this convicted felon with a gun to shoot at them so they could end up like the Jefferson Parish deputy.

You're*
He had a gun on him. You weren't going to rough him up, mr e badass. The cops tazed him first. Didn't work. They physically tried to bring him down and he kept fighting. When one cop yelled that he had a gun the second cop fired to kill maybe not totally understanding what that meant. It's tragic because of how it ended. But it seems justified to me at this point.

be*
Point is how many times are cops not going to be able to handle a suspect. They better start teaching them something different.

As many times as this situation has happened and you haven't heard a single thing about it.
And what's the "be*" for? There's no typo in my post.
