The trashy are growing way too fast in Louisiana. We have past the tipping point. That is the reason why companies leave or don't come here.

Plus, new people that do come don't want to play the stupid arse Catholic/Private school political games. They just want a good school and don't want to play Louisiana politics at even the lowest level (private schools).

Industry that does not have to be in Louisiana will not be in Louisiana. Our civilian legal tradition creates a unique legal climate that is different than the other 49 states. Even if schools and infrastructure were top notch, we would still have that problem to overcome. Throw in our negative tax collection structure versus Texas next door and you have a shitty situation even if all the other conditions were average to above average.

But they're not. The population that is parasitic is between 40-45% of the state and they are breeding like rabbits because they are incentivized to do so. The population that ought to be breeding more isn't because they can not afford kids above replacement levels because their wages are below national averages and they pay sales, income and property tax and still have to send their kids to private school just to have a chance at success in a safe environment.

If the inland and offshore oilfield comes back, it will be a fraction of what it was prior to 2015 in terms of employment, but that is the state's only chance. Current governor is openly hostile to the industry, so no chance that happens if he gets reelected. But that is the state's only chance to reverse its current trends.
