I wouldn't count on that one being solved, unless somebody starts bragging.
There was a murder right by a friend's work one time, and the friend called the police about it immediately after it happened and never got a callback.
It took them literally 3 months to come by to ask for surveillance camera footage. Corporate doesn't let them keep it for more than a month unless the police ask for it so it was gone.

Was in BR the other day and passed the area where she was killed.
Very sad story. Such a lovely young lady with a bright future. May she RIP.

Many times in cases like this, the cops have a good idea who did it but have zero concrete evidence to make an arrest. They sit and wait. Someone, somewhere, knows who did it, and they will get busted for an unrelated case. They will make a plea deal.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. I apl grateful you don’t have to live in that world, but it’s happening around you and you apparently don’t even know it. There are about 10 very active gangs in EBR and a lot more groups that don’t meet the definition completely.
Take a few LE CTE courses on tattoo ID and go spend a few weeks on the narc beat and you’ll realize you’re dead wrong.
