Aircraft carrying 11 crashes in Pacific Ocean

This is the third one this year from this unit and most recently. What is going on? Sounds shady.
“The USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier launched a search and rescue effort in the Pacific Ocean after a U.S. Navy plane with 11 on board crashed Wednesday while en route to the ship.
U.S. Navy helicopters rescued eight personnel who were on board the C-2 "Greyhound" aircraft, a U.S. Navy official told Fox News. They have been transferred to the USS Ronald Reagan for evaluation and "are in good condition at this time," US Navy's 7th Fleet said in a statement.
The U.S. Navy, with help from Japan is still searching for the remaining three missing.“

Yeah, third time this happened should raise major flags. Outside of maintenance issues, this can’t be bad luck

This whole issue seems to be isolated to just the 7th fleet.
Makes me wonder if the other fleets have been lucky or are just better at what they do. Either way, the CONF needs to get with his people and figure out what's going on.

Sounds like the whole 7th is about to have a major chain of command change. That maintenance commander is screwed, unless they find foul play, but that’s doubtful.

I tend to agree. However, from my understanding there are severe shortages in supply that may cause cannibalization and utilization of parts that have exceeded their lifespan.

I'd be more concerned about the amount of navy surface ships playing bumper cars over there. 3 collisions in the last few months... get your shite together 7th fleet.

Yeah bro, when that headline popped up on my feed, automatically assumed it was the 7th. As far as maintenance and parts, I’ve flown in some shady aircraft on missions with actual 100mph tape and rigged repairs holding the plane together, so that doesn’t shock me. What about rushed pilots/training? Trying to see what the conditions were.

It’s almost as if some in the Navy are more focused on emo pixie girls than on doing their jobs.

Aging equipment, lack of repair parts, budget cuts, sensitivity training being more important than job training... could be any number of factors.
One of my old chiefs from back on the usetafish was the CMC over 7th Fleet. I bet that fricker is glad he was transferred not long ago.

Glad I got out when I did. My buddy moved down here two weeks ago and left the service after 14 years. Said he couldn’t take the changes anymore. Retention is now at an all time low of 21% for SF. Actual 12 man ODAs with only one senior guy and the rest cherries. And all this female crap. They are trying to “push” through two females like they did the Rangers.

Seriously though, if an aircraft impacted the water and 8 people were pulled out successfully with minimal injury it sounds like a maintenance issue that caused the pilots to have to ditch it in the water.

Same here man, too many variables at play. One thing that comes to mind is fuel starvation or contamination. It happens more often than you think, but usually on the civilian side of aviation. That's pure speculation though.
