But this is the OT so I shouldn't be surprised by people bitching and complaining about the most insignificant things.

I think most of the OT hates to see anyone having a good time

Why do you care whether other people dress up for Halloween? Mind your own business. If you can't take it, lock yourself up in your home, turn out the lights and stay away from the front door.

People seem to be happiest these days when they can find something to complain about with regard to other folks and these things are just silly. Save your angst for something worthy of it.

Perhaps I should have specified by saying people with babies obviously too young to either know what’s happening nor will be able to safely eat Halloween candy for at least another year.

I also don’t like when some teenagers in regular clothes and a Walmart sack walk up and just hold it out without even saying trick or treat. You’re just panhandling at that point. At least put some effort into it.

God forbid new parents want to get the experience of trick or treating with their child as many times as they can.

Wasn't too many years ago (OK, maybe it was ), we were the young parents going around with our little tot, having a great time.

Now, we're the empty nesters (besides an awesome dog) that gives away the best candy and a cold beer for the dads pulling the wagon.

I always answer the door with a bag of frozen mixed vegetables (with candy inside) and pretend we are passing out carrots and string beans and such.

We'll have to wait for grad school to end before we have the next generation, but if he/she wants Pops to dress up, I'll sure do it.

Give em candy

It's a fun holiday, I like to see people happy. Just roll with it. Maybe get creative and scare some people.

I make them say "trick or treat" if they want candy

That’s what I do.

Before my old neighbor moved away, we use to do this. There was about 5 of us dads who would get together and decorate the whole cul-de-sac and we’d put up a haunted trial that ran from one side of his house through his and my backyards and come out on the other side of my house. We’d dress up, I was a zombie like thing(still have that costume I think) and we’d chase the kids with fake knives and chainsaws, chain removed of course. Those were some really fun Halloweens.

Upset? No. Irritating? Yes. There is a difference.

Your response to me was definitely upset.

ETA: As is you immediately downvoting everyone disagreeing with you. Can't be good for your heart.

That’s because you’re always upset. It’s why you do nothing on here besides argue and generally behave like a chode.

You’re even upset over something as stupid as a downvote.

you literally said it pisses you off

What pisses me off though are the parents who dress up and bring their costumed baby who can’t even eat candy yet and expect me to give them candy that is obviously for them.

As opposed to what you do? But thanks for agreeing that you were upset.

ETA: The comment about the downvote was just proof that you are upset by the posts that don't agree with you. Not shocked that you don't get that though.

You said it pissed you off. That's definitely 'being upset' and not just 'being irritated'. Unless we have different definitions of 'pissed off'

Because they're not just made up, like Halloween. What are you not understanding?

Is this where I should say I'm rubber and you're glue? What great purpose do you serve here?
