Besides the Attitude era being full of great storylines, wrestlers took so many more risks back then.

Back in the late 90's fans used to chant "Holy shite" after an extraordinary bump. Nowadays it only takes something simple like a finisher through a table for that chant.

Shows how neuteured the product became after WCW was defeated and WWE became a public company. Sad we'll probably never see these days again.

Here's some memories. Mostly from the Attitude era but there's a few later ones in there.

Yeah don’t they make the video black and white now if a wrestler bleeds? I don’t even think they’re allowed to blade these days.

I’d probably still watch wrestling if it was like it was during the attitude era. We all knew it was fake as shite, but it was a fun fake.

Not sure, it wouldn't surprise me.

I only watch very occasionally now. It started going downhill after 2003, then seemed like it took another dump within the past few years.

The attitude era gave us some of the best names in the history of the biz. We may not be fortunate enough to see the caliber of personnel like the Rock, Stone Cold and Triple H all in the same era.

Agree the new product plays it very safe. I’m sure that will continue with the new Fox deal. I recently began watching again with my boys and couldn’t agree more with the watered down WWE product. Their mic skills are very weak.

That being said I’ve watched some New Japan stuff recently and those guys are fearless! They do amazing stuff that looks legit scary.

Yeah, all those great storylines like choppy choppy pee pee and an old lady giving birth to a hand.

They've been PG for awhile now, probably since 08 or 09 when they got their toy deal with Mattel.
Other things were toned down after the Benoit thing happened.

Hey you remember them don't you?

I loved those two storylines... talk about thinking outside the box!

People remember David Arquette winning the WCW title too, so...

They need another Ted Turner to come in and give WWE some serious competition. Even WCW in 2000 was better than what they have now.

Mid-card characters like Val Venis and Kaientai were so much more entertaining than what they have today.
