A good YouTube series on the L.A. fires and the future of fire in the area

This is a quality project by a few guys who are really good at what they do. The Lookout (Zeke Lunder) is doing good work in many aspects of wildfire in California.
The series begins with the Eaton Fire in Pasadena/Altadena, explores Sants Ana wind events a bit, the landscape involved, and how neighborhoods and homes were built on that landscape. In the second episode they go to Bel Air and Beverly Hills and talk about how they will most likely face a similar fire in the future. The third episode talks about home hardening and what homeowners can do to help their own properties survive fire. The fourth part, released today, heads to the Palisades and begins to talk about that fire and how people and planners should think about rebuilding differently.
This is an educated, realistic look at the fires and what the area may face going forward if it chooses to rebuild in the same manner as before the fires. It is worth the time for anyone interested.

I saw one of these docs, and there was a guy with a swimming pool who rigged up some high-pressure hoses and defeated the fire. Only house in the neighborhood that didn't burn.

I've never seen actual footage of the streets in that area of Beverly Hills. Seems like just a regular house fire would be devastating . Claustrophobic is right.

I am not necessarily interested in this, but if anyone has any other youtube series they can recommend I would appreciate it.

It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see the same scenario playing out there. Same dense population with houses laid out the same, and there is no way they can move equipment around those neighborhoods. Then, the adjacent wooded areas are steep and hard to access. If you put a fire like the Pallisades fire, one that started less than a quarter mile from a large neighborhood, there it is a disaster waiting to happen.

You should start a thread asking for recommendations.
