Your local hardware stores don't sell A/C parts.

You CAN buy those parts locally:

ACME Refrigeration is located on Pennywood in the Industriplex

Johnstone Supply is located on Coursey between Sherwood and Cedarcrest

All Electric and A/C Supply is on HWY 30 right by Mike Anderson's in Gonzales.

If the fan isn't moving and there's a low hum there's a good chance it's a capacitor. When mine went out it acted the same way. AC guy gave me a $100 lesson on just looking at the capacitor and seeing that it was bubbled out some. Go Google/Youtube it or just call an AC guy if you're not cheap.

In my experience, you should have time to go to lunch, take nap, do a 1,000 piece puzzle, grow a beard and start a family. Then he'll call and say he's runing late.

Had this happen last month. It was the flux capacitor? Less than 200 buck repair.

I have a very honest A/C company. They could have told me it was the compressor and I would not have known.

You have any a-hole youngsters running around your neighborhood? They could be stealing Freon from your unit and huffing it, like my friends and I used to do when we were little frickers.
