It is about punishing law abiding citizens. No it is not funny, and people are not trying to poke fun you dumb arse. It is the basic notion that criminals will do criminal shite. Doesnt matter what laws you have in place.

That's why you see people saying stuff like, you are more likely to get killed in a car crash than a mass shooting. But its actually easier to get your fricking license than it is a gun.
