70sm from KLIX Radar ( Slidell, La)
Standard radar angle 0.50 degrees.
Radar beam over BTR (~70sm) would be aprix. 3,200 feet above ground level.
Could miss most tornadoes, waterspouts.

That explains a lot why we could get so many false alarms too as the circulation is still in the clouds and has not reached the ground.
Yesterday, there was a funnel cloud in Larose Cut Off area and I don’t believe there were any tornado warnings. Luckily there was no damage.
If it were closer to a radar site it would have been picked up.
