Well, it’s nighttime. So they pull him over bc they can’t see it. Nazi theory debunked

Should cops just sit there and “have a conversation” with all criminals who determine which rules they want to follow, and which laws they want to adhere to?
"Criminals" is the key word here.
This guy wasn't a criminal. And put on your thinking cap and tell me what the harm would have been in them just sitting there and having a conversation to see if there was anything for them to threaten his life over.

The cop was full tilt out of control with gun drawn. He then spent the back half of the video acting like he was doing the guy a favor for not ruining his career on top of assaulting him.
That was the part I'm sure most didn't watch. That guy is a complete piece of shite and those comments are probably the ones that really pushed the LT to start his suit.

It would go very poorly, because mental midgets like you continue to support police doing stupid stuff like this.

How funny you think these situations are at all comparable

You clearly know nothing. Sit there and have a conversation with everyone they pull over then? There’s procedures and training for a reason. And yes, obstructing justice/resisting arrest most definitely makes one a criminal.
Cops don’t pull people over, follow them for a couple miles, then have conversations with them from inside their vehicle Jen they are combative. Get out. No. Turn the vehicle off. No.

He's right. The vast majority will give up their guns without a fight, and then we will all live out our days pretending to be free.

"Combative". There you go misusing words again.
And did you forget to actually lay out the harm that would have been done had they not escalated this situation? Or is it just that you can't think of anything but don't want to admit it?

The only ones I saw combative in that video were the cops.
Screaming and brandishing guns is combative.
Calmly, frankly meekly, asking what he did wrong? Not combative.

Do you know the definition of combative?? I’ll wait....
Do you know the actual law in that state requiring exiting your vehicle once pulled over?

Dude you’re an idiot and full of prejudice. This is coming from a gun carrying southerner with a BIL in law enforcement.

All I ask is that you have that Ring system recording, Patriot.

They hit the lights, and he’s in the parking lot in under a mile
They draw guns, despite later acknowledging they saw his temp tag. Which means they didn’t even have an offense at that point.
Give him conflicting instructions.
Tell him he should be afraid to get out.
Spray him.
And then try to blackmail him into silence.
And now reading more they file a follow up report that... bends the truth.
I both hope, and fully believe, that 99.9% of similar stops are handled with low key conversation. “Oh, I apologize, with the tint I didn’t see your plate when I hit the lights - my mistake. Have a great night.”

This statement is where the cops fuked up, and threw their careers away.

I would not be surprised to learn that the law has been written to give police officers the ability to treat citizens like people who have no rights.
At what point does the law go too far in protecting and enabling cops at the expense of everyone else? That's the interesting discussion. That they have a legal right to abuse this guy for what he did IS the problem.
What's also a problem is the extremely low expectations people like you have for law enforcement's responsibility to exercise restraint whenever possible, even if the law is written in such a way to give them protection in extreme circumstances.
What some are failing to grasp is that this shite is going to come back to bite people like us (I'm assuming you're my demographic) in the arse.
Posted on 4/12/21 at 10:02 pm to UFownstSECsince1950
The cop told him “you should be scared” and “you’re about to ride the lightning”. I would definitely consider that being combative over someone sitting there with his hands out the window saying he’s scared.

Yeah that was stupid.
I'm good with them giving commands to exit the vehicle while they stay behind cover.
I'm good approaching the car with guns drawn if he refused.
But you still got to stay calm and give precise instructions and don't say stupid stuff.

A healthy distrust is not a terrible thing.
The only reason going to a gas station escalates it immeasurably is if someone has hurt feelings. I’d hope better from our officers than to be so delicate as you imply.
I think there are a lot of military officers here, and they're giving this guy a pass.
This lieutenant had a bad attitude from start to finish here. Refusing to pull over, all that crap about "actively serving" the country... This guy was looking for a fight based on his own "police brutality" narrative. As so often happens, he got what he was looking for, and buying into his crap is just reinforcing this bullshite.
I don't like the cops, but it's not hard predicting their behavior. They don't just randomly walk around beating people. The things that will inspire them to act like asses, or beat your arse, or even shoot you, are well-known.
Don't do those things... and don't tell me you're a big bad Army officer but you're afraid of the "Blue Light Rapist."
