28 years ago tonight...it was a Monday...about 8 o'clock

The angels came for my Dad.
In late October the doctors had told us, "take him home and enjoy your time with him for the holidays."
We didn't get those holidays. Words cannot describe how much I wanted that last Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Ladies and gents, if you still have your parents or a parent. No matter where you are these holidays. Try your best to get home.
One of these days that empty chair at the table will loom large.
I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I will celebrate, as always, in my Dad's memory.

Was doing a 90 day detail with work last Christmas and was going to be back home in a couple weeks. Got a call on Christmas Eve my dad wasn’t feeling well. I booked a flight home and was at the airport on Christmas Day when I got the call he had passed. Enjoy your family, and yes that includes the ones that get on your nerves and just want to argue. You will miss them when they are gone.

Tomorrow is 3 months since my dad passed...the 29th is 3 years since we lost our mom. This holiday season is shaping up to be pretty rough for us.

It doesn't....
We hate the month of August.
Lost 3 of 4 grandparents in August, the flood August 13, 2016, my mom died August 29, 2016, my dad died August 26, 2019.
Every August 1 we just pray to get through the month.
